Cherry Blossoms In Japan

Cherry blossom season in Japan is unlike any other. There are blogs, news reports, special menus, talk shows, and festivals following the trees as they go into full bloom across the country. There’s even a Japanese word, hanami, specifically devoted to the viewing of cherry blossoms and picnicking beneath them. For about two weeks each year beginning in mid-March, the country celebrates these beautiful blooms signifying the return of spring and sparking a period of mindfulness and enjoyment of the present moment.
