In Chile, festivals are some of the most exciting events and they’re held all over the country throughout the year. The Fiestas Patrias is one of the biggest celebrations in Chile, and it celebrates the country’s independence on 18 September 1810. Vina del Mar Music Festival features famous international artists held at the end of February. Santiago a Mil is the largest performing arts festival in Chile and takes place every January, featuring theater, dance, and music events throughout Santiago. Fiesta Tapati is the cultural festival of Easter Island that happens every January, honoring the indigenous people of Easter Island (Rapa Nui) and their culture. Fiesta de la Tirana, held in La Tirana, is a 7-day event in honor of the patron saint of Chile, Virgen del Carmen.
