Spread the love

Known as the soft coral capital of the world, Fiji is home to over 390 coral species and over 1,500 fish species, many of which are specific to Fiji. The tidal currents and consistently warm waters make this area the perfect place for soft corals to thrive. With an area of 3,869 square miles, there are four major reefs and one major reef system. The major reefs include the outside barrier reef, inside barrier reef and fringing reef at Nameena Island, the Great Astrolabe Reef at Kadavu, and the Nuku Reef in the Mamanuka Island Group.
