Elephants in Sri Lanka

Spread the love

Between the months of July and October in Sri Lanka, the largest gathering of Asian elephants in the world converges in Minneriya National Park. Over 300 elephants from several families migrate here and bring their babies to drink from the shallow lake and play in the water. One of the best parts of seeing elephants in this national park is you’ll often see them crossing the highway on your way in, or even approaching safari vehicles to say hello. Stay calm, keep your arms inside of the vehicle, and remember they’re more curious than anything else.
