Hiroshima is a major city in Japan and is widely known as being the target for the first atomic bomb in WW2. Since then, Hiroshima has rebuilt itself into a bustling metropolitan city. The city is now home to dozens of museums, including the Hiroshima Museum of Art, which houses paintings from the 14th to 17th centuries and a very large collection of Renaissance art from France. For those wanting to see the effects of the bomb, the Atomic Bomb Dome is a structure that was almost directly underneath the explosion and somehow avoided complete destruction. The remains of the building still stand today as a tragic reminder of that harrowing day.
