India is one of those rare places where traditional clothing is still worn in daily life. Of course, we all know and recognize the sari, but there are also other traditional Indian clothing such as the salwar kameez, a long tunic top (kameez), and loose-fitting pants (salwar) worn by both men and women. Women often add a long scarf called a dupatta or odhani to finish off the look. The dhoti is a sarong for men that wraps around their hips and thighs. One end is brought between the legs and tucked into the waistband, so the sarong resembles baggy, knee-length pants. The dastar or pagri is a turban worn by members of the Sikh community.
